The creamy caramel aroma hits you the second you open the pouch, and it actually carries through to the cup. I've been brewing it western style in the mornings and the sweetness lingers without any bitterness.
The Tieguanyin base gives this a floral backbone that keeps the caramel sweetness from getting cloying. I've been brewing it at about 90°C and the leaves unfurl into a full, smooth cup by the second steep. The 250g pouch is generous too — plenty of sessions before I need to reorder.
That creamy caramel aroma hits you before the water even boils. I've been brewing it in a gaiwan and the Tieguanyin base stays smooth and sweet through at least four steeps with no bitterness. The 250g pouch is generous too, way more than I expected for the price.
